Debbie Brinker is a clinical practice specialist with the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). Katie Schatz is a clinical practice specialist with the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). She has more than 35 years’ experience in a variety of acute and critical care settings including flight nursing and as a nurse practitioner. In addition to her clinical roles she has worked as a regulatory manager, led quality-improvement initiatives that transformed practice standards across two hospitals, as well developed and grew a successful transdisciplinary department. A speaker at national and international conferences, she has held multiple roles at AACN and recently returned to the clinical practice role, joining the CSI team. Her passion is mentoring nurses to grow their leadership skills and demonstrate their vital role in transforming healthcare.
