Parallel to her academic pursuits, she works at the Environmental Protection Department under the Ministry of Environment, where she integrates practical experience with academic insights. Lisa Huybrechts (1998) has completed her Master in Bio-engineering at the Catholic University of Leuven. In 2025, she joined the research team of Proefstation voor de Groenteteelt vzw where she focuses on practical research in sustainable water use in soilless horticulture crops and cucumber cultivation. She serves as the project coordinator for the LA trajectory OptiWAIE (Optimization of Water use in greenhouse horticulture using Alternative Internal and External water sources), within which the presented research is conducted.

Geologist graduated from the Federal University of Bahia (2010), with experience in greenfield and brownfield exploration of iron, graphite, and lateritic nickel across several Brazilian states. She holds a Ph.D. in Geology (Petrology, Metallogeny, and Mineral Exploration), focusing on phosphate in Paleoproterozoic metamorphic rocks. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the State University of Feira de Santana (UEFS), working on agrominerals, soils, and remineralizers. She is engaged in outreach activities on geoscience education and sustainable soil management, supporting family farmers. She also serves as Director of Mineral Policy and Labor Market Conditions at the Bahia Geological Association (2025–2027).
